Charlotte Carrington Candles was born from a lifelong love of music, storytelling and atmosphere. As an opera singer, I’ve always been fascinated by the way a single note, phrase or melody can instantly transport us emotionally. Scent has that same remarkable ability – to evoke memory, shape mood and transform the feeling of a space in an instant.
Over time, I began to wonder what might happen if those two worlds could come together.
What started as a creative idea gradually became something much more personal. Between family life, rehearsals and performances, candle-making became a quiet refuge – a chance to slow down, create and explore fragrance in a thoughtful and meaningful way. Each candle is hand-poured in small batches here in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, with the intention of creating not just beautiful scents, but moments of calm, warmth and connection.
The Opera Collection was inspired by some of the operas and characters that have stayed with me throughout my career. Every fragrance has been carefully paired with music chosen to reflect the mood, emotion and atmosphere behind the scent itself. My hope is that each candle offers more than fragrance alone – that it becomes part of an experience, a ritual, or simply a moment to pause at the end of a busy day.
The name Charlotte Carrington Candles brings together two very important parts of my life – Charlotte, my daughter, and Carrington, my professional name as a performer. Combining the two felt like the natural beginning of this journey.
